Tell me about you: Where are you from, how old are you?

I'm 28 and have lived in MD for most of my life. I lived in California for about a year and a half to attend fashion school at FIDM, but that's about it.

What do you do?

Right now I'm working full-time on my Love,Cortnie bags.

When did you know that Fashion was something you were passionate about?

I always knew I was passionate about fashion I just didn't know that I wanted to pursue something fashion-related. It wasn't until someone asked me if there was anything that I wanted to do, what would it be. That's when it hit me and I immediately decided that I wanted to go to fashion school after I graduated from college.

What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?

My bags, of course! I learned to sew at the end of August 2011 and opened an Etsy shop a week later. I was just doing it for fun and possibly some extra money. Nothing major. It's been about 6 months and the response has been overwhelming! My bags have basically taken over my life.

What advice do you have for others aspiring to do what you do?

Just do it! You'll never know until you try something. If someone told me I'd be where I am today I wouldn't have believed them.

 Life quote: If there was one quote that summed up your view on life what would it be?

Does anyone remember when the CoCo Chanel Lifetime movie came out?
It's actually a quote from that movie. It's "risk...is what life's all about". Such a true statement.

Recap: LPM's One Year Anniversary

This past Thursday I had the pleasure of attening LaPetite Marmoset's one year Anniversary at Tabaq Bistro on U st in DC. It's always great seeing familiar faces, meeting new people, and of course snapping all the fabulousness! Yes, I bet you guys are like "finally! a new post" lol I've been a bit preocupied with planning the Lady Bloggers Fashion and Beauty Social. Saturday is the DAY! So excited! 

Events: Lady Bloggers Fashion and Beauty Social

I've been tweeting about this like a mad woman lol. The event that I am hosting along side fellow lady bloggers Dana and Sarea is about a week away. I wanted to finish all of my NYFW posts before I shared this event with you guys, and if you are in the DC area I encourage you to come out to It's Vintage Darling March 17th from 7 to 9pm to mix, mingle, network, eat, drink, shop and have an all around good time with us.

NYFW: LaQuan Smith F/W 12 Presentation

Concluding my NYFW events was the LaQuan Smith Fall Presentation held at the Cellar Bar at the Bryant Park Hotel. Now, I am very familiar with LaQuan's work, and thought he was amazing from my first time hearing about him and seeing his work, not to mention he is a young African American designer making a name for himself (Inspiring).

LaQuan's F/W 12 Collection was cleverly titled "Robotic Dream" LaQuan defined this collection as his take on how he sees the New York Woman. Looks like strong, sexy, edgy, and fearless to me.

Interesting silhouettes, great hair and edgy makeup to say the least. The fabric and materials used to create this collection were amazing, A Robotic Dream indeed. I literaly said "I die" the whole night while viewing every piece lol I was going off in my head, having mean eyegasms haha
