Recap: #HFRSolutions.. A Discussion

The 16th of December marked a great day for me personally. I've been living in NY for about a month now and Harlem's Fashion Row event was the first of many as I embark on this journey away from the comfort of family and the things I am familiar with. I learned a great deal from a number of talented individuals who've made a name for themselves in fashion. Touching on the subject of diversity in Fashion, or lack there of.. The audience had a chance to listen to these beautiful brothers and sisters speak on what their SOLUTIONS would  be.

Recap: Mila & Fire's Retail Therapy

Two Thursday's ago I made my way to Mila & Fire's Retail Therapy event, to support my girls Kelcie and Morgan at Lotus Lounge in DC.  Sponsored by Neon V Magazine; Mila & Fire debuted their spring collection, a mix of fun flirty versatile pieces perfect for mixing and matching. The crowd also had the pleasure of viewing a brief fashion show featuring Mila&Fire's spring collection styled by Kimme of Neon V. Happy hour drinks flowed, good vibes were abundant, and the music was just right. Great night.

Recap: Juxtapose @ The Ulysses Room

Juxtapose: "An undertaking by artists of two different genres showcasing their interpretation of the marriage between fashion and art"

Upon receiving an invite from my girl and fellow blogger Monica, I was very excited when reading about "Juxtapose" and what it entailed. The marriage between fashion and art?! I was determined to be there, even if it was the evening before my flight to Orlando for my cruise LOL. The Ulysses room was filled with beautiful fashionable people, and I couldn't wait to capture the moment. Bianca (wardrobe stylist) and Jamon (Photographer) created a great body of work with this exhibition.

Recap: DC Scout's Suited For Style Party

Last week I attended my first style event of the year thanks to my girl Dana. Gotta love friends who share events with you lol. In usual blogger fashion, I chatted to a few people, but I was mostly looking for good photo ops. The "Suited for Style" Party, presented by DC Scout took place at local Custom Clothier "Michael Andrews Bespoke" This man knows his suits I must say!

Come out and support local businesses enjoy a few cocktails, a fashion show, a bit of shopping, and all around good time. I hope to attend one in the very near future as I've seen some great recaps from past events, and it always looks like so much fun!

Recap: Meeps Vintage Grand Re-Opening

It's been a long time coming for this post, thanks to my laptop not working, and then my desktop not working either lol. But, finally here it is.. If you all remember THIS post, you know I was one of 5 bloggers asked to participate in styling one look using new Meeps inventory. I must say again that I was thrilled with the final photos but I expect nothing less than greatness from Marshall of TPWP anyway lol. I had a good time at Meeps chatting it up with a few people, and of course using my store credit which was so graciously given to me by owners Kathy and Katherina. Thank you ladies!

I really love the new Meeps, peep the ceiling.. how cool is this!

This number caught my eye as soon as I walked in and started sifting through the many racks of vintage.

Some of the cutest little earrings and pins, I got the silver clip on earrings to the far right.

Recap: "We Run The Night" in New York

Three week ago Eboyne' of Divine Influence PR hit me up on twitter asking if I was interested in coming up to attend "We Run The Night" in New York City. I thought about it, thought about my funds and said "hey, what the heck.. why not." I booked my ticket, got me a hotel room for one night (who does that?) and made my way to the city that never sleeps. Upon hoping out of my cab and into the venue, I was greeted by the lovely volunteers they had working the check in table. After I was properly checked in, I went to mingle with some of the other press there while we waited for the Special Guests to walk accross the red carpet and pose in front of the step and repeat for photos (It was kind of hard getting really great pics with so many others taking photos also, but I did my best.) But yall know me, I'm all about capturing "The Outfit."

*Be prepared for a picture heavy post*

Recap: Defy DC Pop Up Shop at the Gibson Guitar Lounge

I'm getting so bad with posting recaps in a timely fashion lol.. But moving on, last week I went out to support the homie Bob creator of Defy DC at his very first Pop Up Shop at the Gibson Guitar Lounge; which I must say was a major success, and he should definitely do another one. Per usual, I saw a lot of familiar faces, chatted a bit, ate some cupcakes provided by TamiCakes (DELISH) and snapped a few photos.
