NYFW: Recap #SLUMFLOWER

Three weeks ago while in New York during Fashion Week, I attended the Slumflower exhibition to support and show love to the men of Street Etiquette. I'll save you all the essay, just know that the room was filled with beautiful people and good vibes.. my favorite places to be. Needless to say, I am very proud of Josh and Travis for their many accomplishments.

Enjoy the visuals.

NYFW: Stylin.. Just A Little Bit

Last weekend I made my way to New York for fashion week (GREAT IDEA), and enjoyed every bit of it. I didn't spend much time at the Lincoln Center this time around, but I still managed to capture some pretty cool looks. Check it.

THIS... Is a Big Deal

...At least for me anyway. Two weeks ago, while in NY for Fashion Week, myself and friends were shot by the legendary Bill Cunningham. The creator of Street Style Photography (Please watch his documetary if you havent, titled "Bill Cunninghm's New York". Here is an old post leading up to the DC Screening Here).

This is how it went; Dana, Amber and I are sitting outside of the Lincoln Center resting our tired feet, and here comes Bill... camera in tow. He's checking people out as I suspect he normally does, walks by us, stops, looks at me...raises his camera and snaps. I'm smiling for the camera, and looking into the lens; but he doesn't want that. Instead he directs me to look away, as if to catch us candidly. Now let me tell you how elated Dana and I were after I told them Bill had just taken our picture! I'm all like OMG,OMG and Dana's like WHAT?! Meanwhile Amber was just like"Um, okay." Dana and I looked at her like O_O and had to let her know who Bill was (funniest moment of the day I tell you.) Needless to say, I'm pretty stoked about this. Check it out HERE, and peep the video slide show!

NYFW: After the Korto Momolu Show

Let me tell ya'll a story. I'm totally famous for always missing a show lol, and Korto's show was no exception sadly. Time was not on my side, but that did not deter me from venturing out to Helen Mills where Korto's show was held. Needless to say, that was great descision making on my part because the night ended up being and EPIC one! Peep some of the photos I managed to catch at the show "Let out" haha

NYFW: LaQuan Smith F/W 12 Presentation

Concluding my NYFW events was the LaQuan Smith Fall Presentation held at the Cellar Bar at the Bryant Park Hotel. Now, I am very familiar with LaQuan's work, and thought he was amazing from my first time hearing about him and seeing his work, not to mention he is a young African American designer making a name for himself (Inspiring).

LaQuan's F/W 12 Collection was cleverly titled "Robotic Dream" LaQuan defined this collection as his take on how he sees the New York Woman. Looks like strong, sexy, edgy, and fearless to me.

NYFW: Lars Andersson Fall 12 Presentation

The second presentation I attended during my stay in NY was for Lars Andersson. We all know that there are dozens of designers who no ones knows, and for me Lars Andersson was one of them. I got confirmed after RSVPing and Amber and I made our way to the Soho Grand not really knowing what to expect. The Lars Andersson collection was filled with a lot of draped pieces made of a wool blend in charcoal grays, blacks, plums, and forest greens, there was a royal blue piece in there too lol. All models had on Frye boots/shoes.. Nice lol

NYFW: Tsemaye Fall 12 Presentation

During my week long stay in NY I had the pleasure of attending the Tsemaye Fall 12 Presentation with my new found friend Amber. The presentation was held in a small lounge, and got pretty packed pretty quickly so I did the best I could with the photos. Tsemaye's collection was very femine with a bit of an edge in some pieces. Ranging from dresses to gowns, to jackets, and blouses, with this one amazingly constructed jumpsuit. I really enjoyed viewing his collection. Take a look...
