Stylized: Douriean Fletcher of Eklektik Ekhos

Tell me about you: where are you from, how old are you?

I’m originally from Pasadena. A 25 year old Californian living in New Orleans.

What do you do?

I’m a creator of experience, evoker of emotion. On paper though, I’m an artist, wearable artist, jewelry designer, and I teach children how to express themselves through jewelry when the opportunity arises. I create bamboo sconces and wearable art.

When did you know that Fashion was something you were passionate about?

The root of my experience has been the artistic process of the work but to pursue the fashion aspect of my work, I decided in June after visiting Paris for a Fashion Weekend Show I participated in, the architecture was truly inspiring and I decided that I could fuse the two together.

What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?

My biggest accomplishment was selling my work at Labo Ethnik International Show of New Designers in Paris, France. I was invited last minute and worked extremely hard to get the funds and inventory to present my work.

What advice do you have for others aspiring to do what you do?

My advice: Go with your gut. It’s your individual compass for your life’s journey. Even when it looks like it’s impossible, jump off that cliff and give it a try.

Life quote: If there was one quote that summed up your view on life what would it be?

Envision it, Act from it, Be it….“Act on the assumption that you already possess that which you sought.”

How can we stay connected with you?

Can you believe I was introduced to Douriean via twitter?! Ok, well.. it's not that uncommon now a days but still lol. She is truly talented and I love how she works withe metals to create these beautifule works of wearable art. I think I'm inlove with the earrings and the small bracelet. Nothing but future success for this young woman
