The second presentation I attended during my stay in NY was for Lars Andersson. We all know that there are dozens of designers who no ones knows, and for me Lars Andersson was one of them. I got confirmed after RSVPing and Amber and I made our way to the Soho Grand not really knowing what to expect. The Lars Andersson collection was filled with a lot of draped pieces made of a wool blend in charcoal grays, blacks, plums, and forest greens, there was a royal blue piece in there too lol. All models had on Frye boots/shoes.. Nice lol
During my week long stay in NY I had the pleasure of attending the Tsemaye Fall 12 Presentation with my new found friend Amber. The presentation was held in a small lounge, and got pretty packed pretty quickly so I did the best I could with the photos. Tsemaye's collection was very femine with a bit of an edge in some pieces. Ranging from dresses to gowns, to jackets, and blouses, with this one amazingly constructed jumpsuit. I really enjoyed viewing his collection. Take a look...
This white gown with the fur was by far my favorite look
With out a doubt, every season you will find the fashion admirers, editors, stylist, bloggers, photographers.. so on and so forth at the Lincoln Center for Fashion Week. Some actually attending shows, others may just be hanging out outside snapping photos, or just hoping to get snapped. Me, I never head to the tents hoping to be photographed by some street style photographer. I'm the one who wants to capture some of the amazingly dressed individuals. I get a lot of inspiration from other stylish people, and I love to see what they are wearing. Take a look.
To jump start my NYFW trip, I had the pleasure of attending the Bloggers Night Out event at The Caulfield . I RSVP'd last minute (S/O to the lovely ladies of Spicy Candy DC for filling me in). Got to the event and saw a slew of familiar faces from the DC Bloggers to Curran J of Kings Rule Together, to Yvonne with whom I assisted with the Howard University's Alumni Fashion Show. It's great seeing familiar faces, but you know the whole point of events like these is to network and meet other bloggers. I did just that.. which reminds me, I need to send out follow up emails (I got so many business cards lol). Check out some of the pics I managed to snag
What amazing rainboots. I think I need to shop more at TJ Maxx and Marshalls lol
I love capturing the details of an outfit, that's why most of the time you see bits and pieces of a fit instead of the whole thing. It's what my eye is drawn to, what stands out the most to me. It was great seeing Curran J of Kings Rule Together, Katherine of La Petite Marmoset, Krystin of Be Loud Be You, Cheralee Lyle, Jen of Comme Coco, and the ladies of Vice as If all in one space.. and before I forget, the gift bags were amazing. Thank you to Bloggers Night Out for giving out such wonderful goodies.
