Many thanks to Soo, and Anthony our MUA's, Dana, and Karmin our Models, and Lee my coworker and photographer/creative director. I'd like to call us the Magic team because when we get together we create Magic lol. I can't wait until our next project, and since styling this shoot so many other opportunities have started to pour in for me. I'm super amazed and thankful, I guess I should start calling myself a stylist now? Haha

Style Capture: Howard Lee

Two weeks ago I met Howard of EPG PR at an event in DC that I was super late to lol, and I asked if I could take a few pictures of him. I just love all the elements of his outfit, simple but the accessories pull everything together and give that stand out element. Don't fly men just make you happy?!

Recap: Defy DC Pop Up Shop at the Gibson Guitar Lounge

I'm getting so bad with posting recaps in a timely fashion lol.. But moving on, last week I went out to support the homie Bob creator of Defy DC at his very first Pop Up Shop at the Gibson Guitar Lounge; which I must say was a major success, and he should definitely do another one. Per usual, I saw a lot of familiar faces, chatted a bit, ate some cupcakes provided by TamiCakes (DELISH) and snapped a few photos.

Recap: LPM's Showroom Grand Opening

I'd like to first give a big CONGRATULATIONS to Katherine and Ashley of La Petite Marmoset for all that they have accomplished, and will continue to accomplish. I had the pleasure of attending their grand opening event at their new showroom, and the showroom looked great! Filled with racks and racks of vintage pieces, DIY denim shorts, shoes, accessories and everything you would expect to find inside of a totally awesome showroom lol. Check it out.. I did my usual of capturing outfit details, my favorite.

Stylized: Imani Lia of ImaniLia Designs

imani

Tell me about you: where are you from, how old are you?

Hey World!! I'm ImaniLia of ImaniLia Fashions and yup Imani and Lia are my real name my 1st and middle name put together. I'm from NEW YORK, NEW YORK!!! Harlem to be exact. Born and raised LOL. I am 25 years old and I've been a lover of fashion for my whole life!!! I started designing and put on my 1st show when I was 10 yers old and just kept going.  kept building my craft and honing my skills. My line is named after me because it is ME. Fashion is me. The Elegance, The Class, The Ambition, Sexiness of the ImaniLia woman is me!!!

What do you do?

ImaniLia Fashion specializes in womens event/evening wear. We are all about dressing a woman for an event. The ImaniLia woman is going somewhere, doing something, and ALWAYS has places to go an people to see and to be seen by people. Cocktail Dresses, Evening Wear .. We have what your looking for when it comes to your unique night out look.

When did you know that Fashion was something you were passionate about?

Wow!!! I was definitely an artistic child. I had my hands in music, fashion, acting, everything as a child and while I was child modeling I realized that I was more interested in the behind the scenes production and how the clothes I was modeling were made. Once I realized this I told my mom that I didn't want to be in front of the camera anymore and I got on her sewing machine and taught myself how to sew. That next year I was a feature designer in a fashion show while also being a featured model. I was so excited and I said this is it for the rest of my life. When I make up my mind to do something I just do it and make it happen and it's been this ever since.

What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?

My biggest accomplishment to me was really hard to come up with because as a designer i'm a really humble person.. I'm a perfectionist but quiet about my work but after much thought I have two big accomplishments.. My first full collection was conceived while in college and it was a terribly strenuous process. The emotional roller coaster that comes with building and creating a collection is un matched and after graduation the passion that went into that collection was well worth it. That collection still gets notice today and is my pride and joy. My second biggest accomplishment was VERY recent. I have launched my own online boutique which opens me up to a whole other branch of clientele. Having my own shop on my own is very big to me and it's something I did on my own so I'm very excited about it.

Life quote: If there was one quote that summed up your view on life what would it be?

One thing I always say to myself and remember is "Love, Live, Life, Fashion" so I suppose That's my life quote. Their are plenty of quotes that inspire me daily outside of that one but I refer to that thought often.

How can we stay connected with you?

I like to think I'm one of the easiest people to stay connected with.
